How to Build a Gut-Health Routine That Sticks
Most healthy routines don't fail because we don't know enough.
They fail because they're difficult to maintain.
The perfect breakfast. A supplement schedule. Ten different foods before 10am. A complicated evening routine.
For a few days, perhaps.
For months? That's much harder.
At CECII, we think a better approach to gut health starts with building habits that fit into the life you already have.
Start smaller than you think
You don't need to transform your entire diet on Monday morning.
Choose one action that is easy to repeat.
It might be adding vegetables to lunch.
Eating a piece of fruit with breakfast.
Adding seeds to yoghurt.
Or drinking your daily CECII shot when you open the fridge in the morning.
Small actions are easier to repeat — and repetition is what turns an intention into a routine.
Eat a variety of plants
Gut health isn't built around one magical ingredient.
A varied diet matters.
Think beyond vegetables alone. Plant foods can include:
- vegetables
- fruit
- beans and pulses
- nuts
- seeds
- whole grains
- herbs and spices
Rather than obsessing over making every meal perfect, look for simple opportunities to increase variety across the week.
Add berries to breakfast.
Put beans into a salad.
Add seeds to yoghurt.
Try a vegetable you don't usually buy.
Small changes accumulate.
Don't forget fibre
Fibre is one of the foundations of a balanced diet, yet it is easy for modern meals to become relatively low in it.
Whole plant foods should remain the foundation.
CECII contains 3g of chicory root fibre in each 60ml shot, but we don't see a daily shot as a replacement for eating plants.
Think of it as part of your routine, not the whole routine.
Make healthy choices convenient
Environment matters.
If something requires too many steps, you're less likely to do it when you're busy.
Put fruit where you can see it.
Prepare breakfast ingredients in advance.
Keep CECII chilled somewhere visible rather than hiding it behind three shelves of food.
Take the friction out of the behaviour you want to repeat.
This matters particularly on the days when work is busy, you're travelling, or you simply don't feel motivated.
Attach the habit to something you already do
One of the easiest ways to remember a new routine is to connect it to an existing one.
For example:
Open the fridge → take CECII.
Make breakfast → add fruit or seeds.
Make tea → fill your water bottle.
Prepare dinner → add one extra vegetable.
You're no longer relying on remembering a completely separate task.
The old habit becomes the reminder for the new one.
Your CECII routine
There is no requirement to take CECII at an exact time of day.
Choose the moment that is easiest for you to repeat.
For many people, that is breakfast.
For others, it might be when they arrive at work or alongside lunch.
If you're trying CECII for the first time, start with approximately half a shot — 30ml — each day for one week.
You can then progress to one 60ml shot a day.
Shake well before drinking and keep your CECII chilled.
Don't aim for a perfect routine
Your routine will sometimes get disrupted.
You'll travel.
You'll have late mornings.
You'll eat meals that aren't nutritionally perfect.
That's normal.
A useful health habit should be flexible enough to survive real life.
Instead of asking:
“Did I do everything perfectly today?”
try asking:
“What is one useful thing I can repeat tomorrow?”
That philosophy sits at the heart of CECII.
Gut health doesn't have to become another full-time job.
Start small.
Make it enjoyable.
Make it convenient.
Then keep going.
